    Description

    Fun folk art applique and embroidered textile art from Bihar, India, titled "Women Fixing the Water Pump", with man standing by and watching! 11 1/2" x 12 1/2" and is done in silk with cotton thread embroidery. Excellent, new condition.
    I bought many Bihar textile pieces done in women's cooperatives, all depicting themes in the lives of women in India.   The works were shown by an Indian art dealer at one of the early International Folk Art Markets in Santa Fe, at the Museum of International Folk Art, but, since the market now only accepts the artists themselves or artist cooperatives, and not dealers, the works have not been available to me recently, and I do not know of any other sources for themat this time.
