    Description

Here we have an original unused wine label for the 1989 vintage of Clos de Gilroy from Bonny Doon Vineyard in Santa Cruz, California USA. The winemaker Randall Grahm (an original himself) is known for his whimsical approach to his industry. In this case he has created a Grenache based Chateauneuf -du-Pape type wine and named it  (for some reason- something in the water?) after the nearest town- Gilroy- better known as 'The Garlic Capitol of the World'. But why stop there? Let's put Alfred Jarry's picture on there too with some punning wordplay ('Le Gil Des Roi/ Le Roi Des Gils'). Top it off with 'Cuvee Tremblant' - a reference to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake which was centered just a few miles away during harvest. Pere Ubu would understand...-
Measures 4.75 X 3.5 inches and is in excellent condition.
