    Very rare 1960s Inuit leather embroidery bag. West Greenland. Measurements: Total height with handle: 17 inches. Width: 6 inches. Depth: 5 inches. Description: Very rare Inuit leather bag with Avittat embroidery on front and back. Made by the Kalaallit Inuit in West Greenland. The Kalaallit of Greenland are particularly known for a decorative trim known as avittat, or skin embroidery, in which tiny pieces of dyed skin are appliquéd into a mosaic which resembles embroidery. Age: Around 1960s. The bag originates from a private Danish collection. A certificate of authenticity will be included. Condition: In good condition. ( see photos)
